Saint Petersburg Florida touts to have 736 events per year. If you get your calculator out there's something going on almost everyday. As a resident here it never ceases to amaze me when I go out during the day and stumble onto yet another organized event. This one was the Blood Disorder Appreciation rally.

The Saint Petersburg arts and crafts museum is a brand new facility and a great addition to the museum menu the city has to offer. Plan on spending at least two or three hours. The museum has a complete list of its exhibits an entry is nominal add $14.00 for adult. Bring your family and make a day of it. Enjoy.

TTC Global Rhythms, Spice and Sound, is a very rare combination a classic Indian Hindu music and Rhythm and Blues. No that's not a typo. When I first heard this combination I knew I had to attend and I'm glad I did. The music was unique and really without comparison.

Saunders Amish Old Country Store is a very good description. It is in fact a very quaint, boutique and original establishment. You can buy Amish milk, cheese and other sundries. Worth a stop and a lot better than a gas station as far as snacks.

Tweetsie Railroad is located just outside of Boone, NC and is a rite of passage if you're coming to this neck of the woods. There are not many places where you can see a working steam locomotive. Regardless, the theme park is excellent for small children and families.

Offshore racing comes to St. Petersburg FL once a year and it's always a great show. These are massive boats with 1500 horsepower or more. They of course have smaller classes but let's face it people come out to see the big guys. There's no fluff here; raw power and speed wins every time.

My wife grew up in Daytona Beach FL and she is a Florida girl. There is something special about the beach for her. It is a special place to relax, forget about your worries and watch the sunset in glorious shades of orange and red. It really does not get much better.

The Weeknd… this was my daughter’s first concert and we could not have picked a better one for her to see. This was a good crowd of kids. They were well behaved, respectful and the night ended without a single incidence of unruly behavior. This was also a all time record crowd of 60,000 for this stadium! Cool!

The Indie Market, St Petersburg, FL, at the Coliseum. Twice a year the Indie Market is provided by local organizers in Saint Petersburg and Tampa. This is a curated event which offers boutique, edgy and unique vendors. To say the market is oversubscribed is an understatement. Get here early!

If you're traveling out of town after tubing this is a great place to stop. You would never see it unless you were looking for it, but it's located right on the Withlacoochee River. If you want simple, basic, tasty and savory food then this is the place for you. Prices are reasonable, service is good...cant miss.

KP Hole is a County park and entrance to the Rainbow River, while Rainbow River State Park is located to the South and is run by the State. The difference is that this entrance is a 4 and 1/2 hour float and the State entrance is a 90 minute float. Make sure you know what you're doing and commit to the time required.

Swampy's Bar and Grill. If you are coming to the Rainbow River and are going to inner tube then this could be a place to start your journey. It will give you a good landmark to come back to and certainly some good fuel for the journey. Swampy's has something for everyone. The food is tasty and reasonably priced.

Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC, it is truly what you would call a in-famous place. It played a role in the civil war as a prison camp for Union soldiers. It was a horrible testament to the treatment that man can give man. Today it is a gorgeous, peaceful national shrine to veterans.
