Greek Culture in Florida!

TARPON SPRINGS SPONGE DOCKS GREEK HISTORY

Tarpon Springs Florida. 80%+ of the world's natural sponges come from this small town in Florida. I have bought sponges from here elsewhere and they are nowhere near the quality. It's also steeped in Greek American heritage. The restaurants are pricey, but you do get a good authentic meal.

Cafe...St Pete Style...

CONCRETE CAFE ARTS DIST ST PETE

Concrete Coffee. Not as bad as it sounds. I think Saint Petersburg is becoming more artsy as it grows. It's interesting that this type of location would even be considered at all, let alone in an industrial park. But that shows you how far the city has come. Really a nice place to come sit relax and have a cup.

PALLADIUM TRAVELING MILBURIES CLASSIC ROCK

Traveling Milbury's tribute to the Traveling Wilbury's is a treat. Heavily attended and I can see why; sold out. In fact I'm glad I got a ticket because if I had waited till the last minute there would have been none left. This is an excellent tribute band and there's a lot of them. The music is classic.

Yes! Another Market in St Pete! But wait...

AWAKENING INTO THE SUN MARKET ST PETE PREMIERE

A very strange name, but a really cool addition to the markets we have in town. This is the inaugural event for this market. It's well curated and you can't ask for a more beautiful setting. It has a nice eclectic mix of vendors, local businesses and service providers. I like the Maze which is nice for the very young,

LOCALTOPIA BUSINESS FAIR ST PETERSBURG FLORIDA MARKET

Shop until you drop! Or if you prefer eat until you fall down. At this festival it's your choice. There is plenty of both. Some events can say they are curated. This one definitely does not fall in that category. This is a local business free for all. You can find anyone here who has the desire to meet his neighbors!

VALENTINES DAY RED HEART MESSAGE SECRET SWEETHEART

Valentines Day! Every year we think of greeting cards, candy or flowers. Well, this is none of the above. Someone, we don't know who, every year puts up hundreds, or maybe thousands, of red hearts on 8 1/2 by 11 sheets of paper. They plaster these all over the neighborhood on anything that will take tape.

NOLA NEW ORLEANS CAJUN CULTURE

NOLA! New Orleans for those that done know! It's everything and anything that you want it to be. Las Vegas always says what happens here stays here, but New Orleans can give that phrase a run for its money. If you've never come plan a visit. To say there is a lot to do as an understatement.

WWII. Its a subject that is near and dear to every American; the good war. Comprising 5 massive museums in one complex, this has quickly become the major tourist attraction for the town. Needless to say you have to visit this museum even if you don't care much for military history. Make time for the Holocaust display.

NOLA NEW ORLEANS CEMETARY NO3 HISTORIC

Cemetery No3. To the uninitiated it doesn't mean much, but if you're buried here you're 'kind of a big deal.' There are different tours that you could take, but if you can only visit 1 cemetery this is the one you want. Everyone from Nicolas Cage (not yet) to the family of the current Pope of the Catholic Church.

NOLA NEW ORLEANS GARDEN DISTRICT HOME TOUR

Garden District? It's a long story. But, it just goes to show you that sometimes you can try to keep people out of a certain area of town only to find that they built something better that, in the long run, draws attention away from what was prohibited them. You'll find homes here from famous authors and current stars

All that Jazz!

NOLA NEW ORLEANS LA JAZZ MUSEUM

Jazz! New Orleans! The two terms are synonymous. If you're in the French Quarter at the very southeastern tip you'll find an excellent museum in what used to be the New Orleans mint. Don't be fooled by social network comments; these visitors never left the mint area and went into the museum.
